Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Opportunities
Concierge Program
Description:
This position greets the public at a variety of events and performances and gives information and directions while helping promote Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts programs.
Requirements:
- Outgoing, reliable individuals who are willing to learn new information on a regular basis.
- Attend concierge meetings.
- Two- to three-hour shifts, professional attire.
Concierge and Volunteer Training:
Both the volunteer and concierge training sessions must be completed before any concierge duties are carried out.
Usher Program
Description:
Ushers are expected to scan tickets and know the safety procedures of the theater while greeting and directing patrons to their seats during events.
Requirements:
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs, operate in dimly lit conditions, and read small print.
- Must be professional, reliable. and courteous.
- Wear black pants and white shirt as a uniform.
- Work three- to four-hour shifts, mostly nights and weekends, for presented and rental events.
Usher & Volunteer Training:
Both the volunteer and usher training sessions must be completed before any usher duties are carried out.
Artist Merchandise Sales
Description:
Volunteers help sell performer and artist merchandise during performances and events while socializing to encourage sales. Volunteers will be handling cash or card transactions using an iPad.
Requirements:
- Go through training on the iPad-based card system.
- Help count cash out at the end of the show.
- Help set up and take down items on the table.
- Socialize with performance/event attendees while selling merchandise.
- Shift lengths vary by artist. Arrive an hour before the show starts and stay until 30 minutes after the show ends.
- Must attend Volunteer Training
Retail
Description:
Volunteers help in The Store at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts during performances and events, socializing with attendees and helping them find items in the store. This position does not handle cash or cards.
Requirements:
- Help patrons try on jewelry and locate any other items in the store.
- Work with retail staff to maintain a good flow of traffic in the store.
- Socialize with our amazing performance/event attendees to make sure they have a wonderful experience.
- Work three- to four-hour shifts. Arrive one hour before the show and stay through intermission.
- Must attend Volunteer Training
Box Office
Description:
Volunteer is needed to assist box office with will call tickets in advance of performances.
Requirements:
- Must be able to read tickets quickly and efficiently to keep the will call lines short.
- Listen and communicate with patrons in occasionally loud and fast faced environment.
- Work two-hour shifts; must stay 15 minutes after start of performance.
- Must attend Volunteer Training
