Let the joyous wave of New Orleans culture flow over you as Trombone Shorty brings the French Quarter to Scottsdale.
New Orleans-born and globally celebrated, Trombone Shorty has played every major festival, alongside artists that range from Pharrell and Bruno Mars to ZHU and Zac Brown. His high-energy live shows are New Orleans-style funk parties, full of horn-driven rock and soul. Think Dr. John, Jon Batiste, or Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
Shorty’s legendary live show blurs the lines between funk, soul, R&B, and psychedelic rock. And he’s a commanding presence, an undeniable star who leaps between instruments and infects the audience with his contagious energy and athletic musicianship. Shorty's band, Orleans Avenue, matches his intensity with razor-sharp skills and an undeniable groove.
Born Troy Andrews, Trombone Shorty got his start (and nickname) earlier than most: at age 4, he made his first appearance at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, performing with Bo Diddley; at 6, he was leading his own brass band; and by his teenage years, he was touring in Lenny Kravitz’s band. He’s toured with everyone from Jeff Beck to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and collaborated across genres with Mark Ronson, Foo Fighters, Normani, and Ringo Starr. In his native New Orleans, Shorty now leads his own Mardi Gras parade atop a giant float crafted in his likeness. His rapturous fifth album, Lifted (2022), taps into the raw power and exhilarating grooves of his legendary live show.
Scottsdale Arts is the only authorized ticket-seller for this event.
