Original Landlords presents Working West, an interactive fashion and cultural activation created for Canal Convergence 2026. Participation is free for all ages, and no registration is required.
Led by Phoenix-based Indigenous designer and creative director Jeremy Arviso, founder of Original Landlords, Working West explores the relationship between Arizona’s working landscape, reclaimed materials, contemporary Indigenous design, and personal expression. Drawing from the history and visual language of workwear, Arviso transforms reclaimed denim and garments into a new collection, inspired by the people, labor, and environments connected to Arizona’s canal system.
At the center of the activation is the Working West Dress-Up Space, inviting visitors to step into the world of the collection. Guests can explore and wear select pieces, experiment with layering and styling, and engage directly with the materials, silhouettes, and visual language developed for the project.
The activation expands through collaboration with Sleeprock Co. Crafted by Diné hatter Geri James, each hat combines Southwest flair with modern style and involves a thoughtful fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design elements. Gloria Fain is a contemporary Diné weaver and textile artist, whose work carries forward a multigenerational weaving tradition while exploring contemporary forms.
Together, the collaborators create an environment where fashion, textiles, design, and participation intersect, encouraging visitors to not simply look at the work but to enter it, interact with it, and become part of the story.
Working West is an invitation to customize, create, and wear your story.

Jeremy Donavan Arviso is a multidisciplinary Diné, Hopi, Akimel O'odham, and Tohono O'odham artist, designer, and entrepreneur based in Phoenix. His practice moves between fashion, jewelry, installation, and object-making, exploring the intersections of Indigenous identity, contemporary culture, and systems of value.
Working under his creative practice, RVSO78, and his Indigenous streetwear brand, Original Landlords, Arviso examines how Native people navigate tradition while existing within a rapidly changing world. His work often incorporates reclaimed materials and familiar commercial imagery to question ideas of ownership, authenticity, consumerism, and cultural continuity.
