Telling Your Story Through Abstract Forms

Mar 21, 2026 / 10:30 a.m.

Storytelling with abstract art.

Join Modern Messages artist Ahchipaptunhe for a hands-on workshop that blends storytelling with abstract art. The session begins with a guided gallery walkthrough to spark ideas and connect with the exhibition. Then, using simple prompts—like places you’ve been or memories you hold—you’ll create your own abstract artwork using paint, paper, and other materials provided. Through artist-led guidance, you’ll explore basic design concepts, such as shape, line, and pattern, to express your story visually. No art experience is needed; just bring your curiosity. All materials are provided. Everyone will leave with a finished piece to take home.

Library Creatives is a partnership between Scottsdale Arts and the Scottsdale Public Library that combines art and literacy for all ages.  All workshops are free to attend on a first-come, first-served basis. All workshops take place at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library, 3839 N Drinkwater Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251, and are free to attend.
