Dec 14, 2025 / 4:00 p.m.
Celebrate the season with festive favorites, a holiday sing-along, joyful traditions, and a visit from Santa Claus in this family-friendly musical celebration.
Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra’s six-part journey through the United States of America’s 250 years of spirit, struggle, and triumph continues with the second installment in the series, Legends and Legacy: Myth, Heroism, and the American Spirit, a cinematic and symphonic journey through the power of storytelling to shape identity, culture, and national ideals. Led by guest conductor Daren Weissfisch of the Tacoma Opera and featuring iconic works by John Williams, including selections from the Harry Potter and Star Wars series, alongside the overture from Alan Menken’s Beauty and the Beast and music inspired by Wagnerian grandeur, this concert explores how myth and legend—whether drawn from film, folklore, or opera—forge our understanding of heroism and destiny. By pairing American cinematic brilliance with timeless European drama, Legends and Legacy reveals the universal themes of struggle, transformation, and triumph at the heart of the American spirit.
