Known for blending contemporary dance, acrobatics, and street dance influences, Jacob Jonas The Company presents a new work with original music composed by Imogen Heap.
LORE Media & Arts and the Huey-Colhuacan Folk Ballet Company from Sinaloa, Mexico, present a captivating and newly reimagined performance that masterfully blends dance, music, art, and ancestral ritual. This immersive experience transports audiences to the heart of Mexico, guiding them through its iconic regions and celebrating the vibrant richness of its cultures and the splendor of Mexican folk dance—all while honoring the profound traditions of Día de los Muertos.
The program will feature newly designed iconic folk art and altar offerings, created by Día de Muertos specialists LORE Media & Arts. These elements invite the audience to celebrate death as a natural part of life’s continuum and to honor the sacred traditions of Mexican and Native Mesoamerican cultures.
About Danza de Muertos
Día de Los Muertos, which is celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world, centers on remembering friends and family who have passed away. Danza de Muertos is one of several expanded celebrations in Scottsdale presented by LORE Media & Arts in partnership with the City of Scottsdale and the Mexican Consulate General in Phoenix.
