Rosy Mack Dance Performances at Canal Convergence
Site-specific dances throughout the evening.
Dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist Rosy Mack performs site-specific dances at two artworks throughout the evening.
Twenty Past 11
Performed at 7:15 and 7:45 p.m.
Location: Sky Wrangler artwork by Curios Form
Set to the nostalgic sound of country western musician and Arizona native Marty Robbins, Twenty Past 11 portrays a man as he reflects on the women who have shaped his life. The piece unfolds as a journey through memory, love, and legacy, culminating in his ascent to the afterlife.
Unbroken
Performed at 8:15 and 8:45 p.m.
Location: Another Slice of Reality by Shaoyu Su x LedPulse
Adapted from a larger work created in 2025, Unbroken draws inspiration from the wild horses of Arizona’s Salt River and the powerful bonds of sisterhood. The work explores the ways women—like the mares who protect and sustain their herd—create networks of strength, safety, and belonging. Through movement, Unbroken celebrates the resilience found in community and the enduring connections that hold us together.
About the Artist
Rosy Mack is a dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist, whose work explores the interconnectedness of human experiences through somatic movement and contemporary modern dance. Her work draws inspiration from lived experience, community bonds, the natural world, and the body’s capacity to hold memory, emotion, and transformation. Through both performance and education, Mack encourages people to see themselves and others through the lens of creative curiosity. Her work explores the tension between vulnerability and resistance, simplicity and complexity, and the individual and collective. She is interested in what becomes possible when we move beyond familiar patterns, challenge our perceptions, and make space for the unexpected. Above all, her work is rooted in the belief that the body holds stories that words cannot always express.
