A moonshine trance of blues tradition and musical innovation

  • ONE Member presale: Wednesday, July 8, 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
  • General onsale: Friday, July 10, 10 a.m.

Raw and loose, full of rhythms and riffs, the North Mississippi Allstars manifest pure energy and musicality through their signature brand of Hill Country blues. Simmering in the legacy of their father, Memphis legend Jim Dickinson, brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson brew juke joint-ready music like a moonshine trance.

The band’s take on Hill Country blues fuses regional traditions with rock, soul, gospel, and funk into what American Blues Scene calls “a highly electrified sound.” While remaining authentic to Hill Country blues, the North Mississippi Allstars have also become beacons for a new generation, crafting a newly innovative sound from music that spans more than 100 years.

For fans of Cedric Burnside, JJ Grey & Mofro, Anders Osborne, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gary Clark Jr., and Gov’t Mule.

“The beauty of a North Mississippi Allstars show is the way the band—no matter the lineup—can present moments of Southern comfort and fun alongside serious musical chops.” — Glide Magazine

About the Artists

North Mississippi Allstars was founded by brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson in 1996 as a loose collective of musicians from their North Mississippi home—inspired by their father, Jim Dickinson, as well as neighbors and musical elders of their community: RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Otha Turner, and Fred McDowell. NMA began touring in 1998 and, over the years, the touring lineup has included Cedric, Duwayne and Garry Burnside, Chris Chew, Berry Oakley Jr, Oteil Burbruidgem  and currently Joey Williams of the Blind Boys of Alabama and Ray Ray Hollowman, guitar player for Eminem and Ne-yo. On the never-ending road since their debut album in 2000, the North Mississippi Allstars have shared the stage with countless legends, including Phil Lesh, Mavis Staples, Robert Plant, John Hiatt, the Allman Brothers, The Black Crowes, Buddy Guy, Snoop Dogg, and Jon Spencer, while earning multiple Grammy nominations for the experimental albums they like to call “modern Mississippi music.”
