Transform simple letters into bold graffiti on a colorful canvas

Explore the art of graffiti lettering in this hands-on workshop with artist Natasha “Rezmo” Martinez. Participants will learn how to transform simple letters into bold graffiti, using pencil, paper, and markers. Experiment with outlines, shadows, fills, and color while creating your own unique lettering style. No experience necessary; just bring your creativity!

Create your own colorful canvas, using chalk spray paint and stencils. Participants will learn basic stencil techniques, spray control, layering, and composition while experimenting with color and positive and negative space. Add your own creative touches to make a one-of-a-kind artwork to take home. Open to all ages and experience levels.

About Natasha “Rezmo” Martinez

Natasha “Rezmo” Martinez is an Indigenous artist, muralist, and educator based in Arizona. She has been creating art for more than 20 years, with graffiti and spray-painting being at the forefront of her artistic journey. Her work combines graffiti, contemporary art, and Indigenous culture and storytelling. She especially enjoys working with young people and creating spaces where they can explore their creativity, learn new skills, and see themselves as artists. Martinez is the creator of the Color the Rez Graffiti Immersion Program and the founder of the Echoes of the Akimel Mural Festival, both of which use art to connect youth, culture, and community.
