Creative Activities at Canal Convergence 2026
Whether you’re learning from a Canal Convergence artist at one of our paid workshops, participating in a drop-in engagement with a community partner, or living it up on opening night, we have a variety of fun things to do during the 10-day festival.
Workshops
We're getting Western in the Nationwide Innovation Zone! Workshops led by Canal Convergence exhibiting artists, local artists, and arts organizations allow participants to learn and create, as they engage in activities inspired by the spirit of the Southwest and public art. Select workshops require a fee and registration. Drop-in workshops and community partner activities are free of charge.

Ticketed Workshops
Explore Indigenous foods, get creative with beads, use watercolors and pastels and more in these ticked workshops spanning the 10 days of Canal Convergence. These workshops take place at the Nationwide Innovation Center.
Drop-In Workshops
Learn from local artists and take home your own masterpieces! Create collages, explore graffiti lettering, jam out with your self-crafted shaker and more. These workshops are free and take place at the Nationwide Innovation Center.
Community Partner Activities
Enjoy a variety of free activities celebrating the spirit of the Southwest, led by our community partners, including the Museum of the West, the Boys & Girls Club, the Arizona Dream Act Coalition, and many more. You can find community partner activities at the Scottsdale Arts Roundabout.
Working West — Dress-Up Space
Customize, create, and wear your story—exploring reclaimed materials, contemporary Indigenous design, and personal expression while trying on select pieces and experimenting with layering and styling.
This free activation is led by Phoenix-based Indigenous designer and creative director Jeremy Arviso, founder of Original Landlords.
