Another Slice of Reality: An Evolving Nature

Another Slice of Reality: An Evolving Nature is a large-scale interactive light artwork suspended within Marshall Way Bridge. A three-dimensional central volume and four surrounding pillars form a living environment that changes with sound, body movement, and the presence of people.

Visitors can simply watch or become part of the work. Sound becomes waves and movement inside the light; a single person can shift and rebalance the illuminated structure, and as more people gather, individual interactions can grow into a larger collective experience.

The work explores nature, not as something separate from us but as a changing relationship among water, climate, land, living systems, architecture, and public life. Historical environmental information from Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix region gives the system a memory of place, while the artist shapes how that memory becomes light, form, and movement.
