Pulse is an interactive art installation designed to explore our connection to nature. Deep underground, the trees create a network with their roots, allowing them to share nutrients, energy, and information with each other. The trees can sense things happening near them and share it with other nearby trees. 

Pulse brings this hidden network to life by suspending a large LED ring around each tree, allowing the tree to express its current state in real time through vibrant visualizations of light.  

While each tree generates its own colorful patterning, it's also communicating with all the other trees in the forest to create a stable, shared pattern.  

As you move through the forest, some of the more sensitive trees will notice, and start sending out messages to the rest of the forest to let them know of your presence. 

You are invited to sit back and watch the trees create stunning visualizations of light, or walk amongst them and discover how they react to your presence.

MattCreative is a new-media artist based in Waterloo, Canada, specializing in large-scale, interactive LED installations that push the boundaries of art and technology.
