About the Event
Join the Scottsdale Arts NextGen young professionals’ membership group at De Sarthe Gallery for an evening of art, performance, and community. This free event is open to all NextGen ONE Members and art lovers looking to gain a sense of community through the shared experience of art. A traveling wine bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres accompany a performance art piece by artist Kristin Bauer and sounds from The Ron Contra Sound System.
About De Sarthe Gallery
With a new approach to collecting and viewing art, Vincent de Sarthe opened an event art space that balances a passion for collecting with insight into the art market and its trends. The space is a continuation of DE SARTHE Hong Kong’s internationally recognized artists program as well as an ever-evolving roster of artists from around the world. The space will not function with set exhibitions but instead will implement a free form style of curation allowing it to form and grow organically.
About Kristin Bauer
Kristin Bauer (b. 1982) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tempe and Los Angeles. This spring, Bauer’s work will be featured in the exhibition Language in Times of Miscommunication at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) and in the forthcoming limited-edition art book, Kristin Bauer: This is Like That, published by Hirmer Virlag, Munich. She will be performing Spin-Thron—an intimate ritual/performance piece that synthesizes embodied gestural movement, constructed sound, and channeled collective presence in exploration of manifested archetypal mythology.
