A public reading of original work will take place in the SMoCA Lounge on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m.

We each have a story to tell — here’s a chance to tell yours. This 10-part workshop for writers of all experience levels (including none!) will help you get your tales from the head to the page with prompts, exercises and sharing. The class will also cover topics such as blogging and publishing.

Amy Silverman is a teacher and journalist based in Arizona. She teaches at Arizona State University and Changing Hands Bookstore, and she’s the co-curator of Bar Flies, the monthly live reading series held at Valley Bar in Phoenix. Amy’s work has appeared on the radio show This American Life, on KJZZ in Phoenix, and in The New York Times, Washington Post and Lenny Letter.
