Scottsdale Public Art attracted a record crowd of more than 80,000 to its fifth annual Canal Convergence Water + Art + Light, Feb. 23–26, at the Scottsdale Waterfront.
Canal Convergence artists brought their installations from Belgium, Canada, France and Mexico, as well as the United States. Local artists Isaac Caruso and Ashley Macias created their whimsical creatures and story at the Marshall Way Underpass, inviting the community to join them in painting the mural. The weather was perfect and there was something for everyone, including artist-led workshops, conversations with the artists and local musical performers.
