April brings new exhibitions, fun events to Scottsdale Arts

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Scottsdale Arts will offer a mix of sobering and celebratory events and exhibitions in the coming weeks.
April brings new community exhibitions completely free to the public, including “Embroidered with Pain” presented by Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation and “Flower Worlds” by Scottsdale Public Art. Both exhibitions will be celebrated with opening receptions, and “Flower Worlds” will include a workshop with the artist in Scottsdale Civic Center Library.
For the first time, Scottsdale Arts partners with Doc Jones to present Scottsdale Jazz Festival. Celebrating its 14th year, the festival will be paying a special tribute to the late legendary musician and producer Quincy Jones. Attendees can enjoy dancing under the stars, surrounded by the beauty of Scottsdale’s Civic Center, as the music fills the air.
The following is a list of events and exhibitions from Scottsdale Arts, a nonprofit organization comprising Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), Scottsdale Public Art, Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation, Canal Convergence and Civic Center LIVE.
