A ‘Thank You’ to Our Patrons

Over the next week, keep an eye on our social media accounts and the Scottsdale Arts Connections blog for special shout-outs of our tremendous gratitude to generous groups in our community who make the arts possible for all. Today, we give thanks to our patrons across Scottsdale Arts.

Dear Patrons,

We know you know: artists are special. I knew this at a young age and decided to pursue the arts as an artist, curator, and administrator. I have been fortunate to be able to see the art creation process from start to finish from multiple perspectives. By wearing many hats, I discovered how truly special artists are in how they can visualize emotions, experiences, beliefs, and more in a way that the viewer never thought possible—in a way that allows the viewer to continue the discussion of what they are seeing, both with fellow viewers and in their minds, which may lead to an untold number of epiphanies and inspirations.

Working as the public art manager for Canal Convergence at Scottsdale Arts, I am fortunate yet again to be able to bring these amazing and vital public art experiences to people of all ages and from all walks of life at no cost. But none of it would be remotely possible without you, the patron.

You, the arts patron, are just as special. You see value in the arts and how it can enhance our lives, and you want to share it with others. Not only are you supporting the arts community, allowing them to create and thrive, but you also make it possible for everyone to benefit from what these exceptional artists have to offer.

Our member and patron services coordinator, Sean Ryan McBride, over at the Center, shares our gratitude for patrons:

“The patrons at Scottsdale Arts have been overwhelmingly helpful, understanding, and supportive during this time of civil and economic ambiguity. We have received a magnitude of support from countless subscribers who continue to stand by our side now, as many have for have years and some for decades. We could not get through this difficult time without this community. Our patrons are the reason our arts programs have been able to grow, the reason we bring in new and invigorating performances year after year. We are endlessly grateful for our patrons and can’t wait for future seasons—enjoyed in full health and security—together again.”

Thank you, patrons, for supporting Scottsdale Arts as we show our community the importance of art in our daily lives. Thank you for supporting the artist community and making it possible for them to continue doing what they do best. Art can bring joy, understanding, connection, and so much more. So thank you, one more time, for helping us bring these vital aspects of what it means to be human to the public.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Gill, Public Art Manager, Scottsdale Public Art

#GivingTuesdayNow, on May 5, is a day of generosity and unity—a day to come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all backgrounds together across the globe. Scottsdale Arts is sharing tremendous thanks to arts lovers and advocates for their support in good times and in challenging times alike.
